When Should You Book a Newborn Photographer in Surrey?

Book During Your Second Trimester

I recommend getting in touch during your second trimester — around 20–28 weeks pregnant. Newborn photographers in Surrey often book up weeks in advance, so securing your spot early guarantees availability around your due date.

When you book with me, I'll pencil in a tentative date based on your due date. Once your baby arrives, we'll confirm the exact session date — typically within the first 5–14 days.

Why the First Two Weeks?

The first 5–14 days are considered the golden window for newborn photography. During this period, babies are:

• Naturally very sleepy — making posed photography much easier
• Still curly — they tuck into those gorgeous womb-like positions
• Less likely to have baby acne — though this is easily edited if present
• Tiny enough to cradle in hands and wraps

What If My Baby Arrives Early or Late?

Don't worry — flexibility is built into every booking. Whether your baby arrives early or fashionably late, I'll adjust the session date accordingly. The key is to get in touch as soon as possible after the birth so we can schedule within that ideal window.

Can I Book After My Baby Is Born?

Absolutely! While booking during pregnancy is ideal, I sometimes have last-minute availability. Contact me as soon as possible after the birth to check. Even if we're slightly outside the two-week window, beautiful images are still very achievable.
