Family Outdoor Photoshoot

This type of shoot will suit a family with a baby or a toddler or multiple kids. These photoshoots tend to be more fun and suited for families that prefer outdoorsy photos to the studio ones. The photos you get will be lively and will reflect on the character of your family.

FAQ

Where will the photoshoot take place?

I tend to shoot in leafy and green locations so you get that outdoorsy vibe. I have a few locations around Kingston that I normally shoot at and I am also happy to consider other locations in the areas nearby.

What time will the shoot take place?

My first suggestion will always be Golden Hour. This will be about an hour before the sunset so the exact start time will vary depending on the time of the year. Golden hour can be a bit tricky to plan for so we will need to look at the weather forecast and be flexible if we need to reschedule due to the weather changes.

I am happy to accommodate other times too. Understandably, having kids and especially toddlers will sometimes require an earlier slot.

How long will the photoshoot last?

An outdoor photoshoot usually lasts 45-60 minutes.

What happens during the photoshoot?

I will guide you through the shoot to be able capture emotions and lively photos. You will rarely need to pose in the traditional meaning of it, unless you want to! If you have a toddler, you will definitely not going to be able to pose anyway! :)

What should me and my family wear for the session?

I don’t ask for any specific colours or clothes, whatever makes you feel good and you are comfortable in. However I do have a few pointers and tips for you to make the photos look even better:

- Try to colour coordinate (not colour match) within the same colour palette. Earthy tones, pastels, neutrals or even bright colours. Just try to keep to one colour palette within your family.

- Try to avoid large prints, logos or stripes. These can be distracting.

- You can always add some layers or accessories.

- If struggling with choice of colours or generally what to wear, choose neutrals. Any combination of cream, tan, grey looks perfect and the softer neutral colours allow more focus on people in the photos.

- Try to avoid the colours that will blend with the background- in case of an outdoor photoshoot, try to limit greens.
